The above equation can be the only explanation of such weirdness. *laughs* Unless the author is emphasizing the old cliche, “Don’t judge a book by it’s cover.” mantra. But still imagine the standards set in this particular high school if the teachers themselves are the ones who urge Chiba to become the head of the class.

Oh, well. I won’t count this minor transgression against you, Chiba. I’m still totally smitten with you. ;p
