Bleach: Episode 29

Ishida goes from full-forced cool-mode to dorky-mode in less than half the episode. It’s a good thing I’m more partial to his comedic persona. ^__^
Ichigo and Ganjuu reunite in the most unlucky way; both were being chased by the shinigami. Once they meet, the opponents inevitably surrounds them. But then fate intervenes. A young shinigami from the fourth division becomes entangled with this encounter. At first, the duo thought that lady luck has blessed their side and tries to use the kid to their advantage. Alas, those death gods chasing them are from the eleventh division and they are not quite fond of the hostage’s party. They could care less what happens to the teen. Fortunately, a huge explosion (caused by Sado) distracts them giving the duo (now trio) the opportunity to escape. The Ichigo-Ganjuu team finds a hiding place and proceeds to argue themselves to death to plan their next move. Their hostage, Hanatarou (it’s Tactics’ Kantarou *fangirl moment*) surprises them with significant information about Rukia.
There’s quite a lot of comedic and SD moments but the pacing seems to be a little bit off, somehow. And the animation has probably suffered some budget cuts. The money saved might be used in the upcoming Kenpachi confrontation. Hopefully.
Hmmmm. What happened to Urahara in the ED sequence? It’s not exactly the most flattering image of him. Then again, since he won’t be appearing anytime soon, I’ll take what I can get from him.
