Bleach: Episode 30

I guess it has been a long time since I’ve read this chapter in the manga that I’ve completely forgot the match-up sequences. For some reason, I kept thinking of a Kenpachi vs Ichigo showdown first before this encounter with Renji. But I suppose it is logical to fight with someone with Renji’s rank before leveling up to the captain. Oh, well, my retention sucks anyway. And as long as there is surreal fighting techniques, poorly timed heart-to-heart talks, and needless hero poses, I’m happy. And yes, I’m not being sarcastic. I live for this genre. ;p

So the Renji and Ichigo goes at it again for a second round and take a good guess on the result. At this point, Renji shows off his weird mechanical-like sword and spouts off amusing tirades against his opponents. (Poor Renji. He’s simply jealous of the annoying blooming Rukia-Ichigo romance.) But is Ichigo perturbed by all of this? No, siree. He stands proud (albeit bloodied) and stupidly bravely remarks about being not hurt, etc. Um, go Ichigo??? But seriously, although Ichigo exhibit the classic signs of cockiness and over-confidence present in ninety-nine percent of all shounen anime protagonists, I can’t help but like him anyway.

BTW, I’m really digging the animation changes at the ED sequence. It gives the viewer (sometimes spoilery) tidbits on each division.
