Bleach: Episode 33

Bleach!angst is fine indeed but an infusion of Bleach!humor is just what the doctor ordered for my slight anime disinterest in the past week. (Yeah, yeah. KoL is evil.) *lol*

Hmmmm. Is this a filler episode? Or is this from an omake? I can vaguely recall a chapter in the manga where Karin&co takes over the shinigami’s job. But I can’t remember any sentai references. Nevertheless, this little installment does its job — to once again incorporate comedic tones to the anime and to serve as a transition from the Renji-angst.

Don Kan’onji is great source for good ‘ole mocking. Karin posing as Karasaki Red is a met with a mix of horror and delight. Ururu’s Pink Karasaki is endearing, as usual. The hero mecha Lion Jet transformation accompanied by that oh-so-cheesy background music is simply precious. And that godawful sentai pose… Priceless.

Hehe, I like the idea of Karasaki Rangers. Next time, costumes should be added. And if possible, a gattai sequence.
