Glass Mask: Episode 06

Despite Maya’s inexperience, she is asked to play the role of Little Women’s Beth. Yet her raw talents are not enough to grasp the whole Beth-persona. So Tsukikage-sensei flexes her coaching muscles. And thus begins the INSANE acting techniques.
I have not ventured to the world of acting, so I am rather unfamiliar with how they operate. However, I think that Tsukikage-sensei and a few of the actors in this series can be crazy with their ground work. Wait ’til we get to the Midori or Helen Keller arc. It’s NOT normal at all. And compared to the future role preparations, this living-as-Beth thing is quite normal, though.
So far, I’m pleased with the ongoing plot developments. Tsukikage-sensei slowly realizes her selfish dream. The Maya-Sakurakouji pairing starts to head to an interesting direction. The two sides of Masumi — as the cold Daitou businessman and as a fan of the theater (more specifically, Maya) — take shape.
Hmmmm. Maybe I should give the 1984 version a try. I believe I’ve seen subs for that adaptation.
