Major: Episode 14

Whew, Major is really such a friggin’ great series to follow. Where else can you watch *real* character developments unfolding in a baseball game? And I’m not talking about power-ups or superficial advancement. It is the character himself in a vulnerable state as he emotionally matures without resorting to cheap plot devices.

Goro’s panic attacks are *real*. They are not simply brought out of convenience. It stems straight out from a childhood trauma. To overcome such incident cannot be done with light touch. He needs to be shaken out of it, even if it means playing the bad guy. And this is where the Yokohama coach steps in. Whee. Although I can’t remember his name, I think I’ll be loving this character.

*sigh*

Goro can wring out varied emotions out of the viewer: may it be sympathy, protectiveness, adoration, delight, melancholy, or even annoyance. He plain rocks.
