Sousei no Aquarion: Episode 04

It’s official. Nekkedness is teh word. I knew there’s a reason why I love this series. ;p

Instead of milking it for all its worth, the studio restrains itself from churning out an elaborate gattai sequence for the episode. A short term disappointment yet it would surely reap benefits in the long run. Eh, maybe.

Although it lacks the awaited scene, Pierre’s efforts to entertain (the audiences, that is) aren’t in vain. His dream to head the Aquarion is realized only to clumsily fall on his butt. Of course, I had the urge to scream “GOAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLL!!!”. ^___^ If this were a regular mecha anime, Pierre and his extreme dorkiness would’ve been an annoyance. Alas, Aquarion transcends the genre (work with me here) and Pierre becomes teh man. Sort-of. ^^;;

Normally, I would’ve ignored token goth chicks and the uber-vagueness they spout. Yet again, this isn’t your average show. Blind loli’s aura-o-vision alone is worth a chuckle or two. And her extraordinary hearing begs questioning her auditory processing. Strange, I still don’t know her name.

Pierre and blind loli amuse me so, but it is Fudo who has stolen my heart for the ep. His evil eye and his foot fetish can give Midou Ban and Tarantino a run for their money. If I had a Y-chromosome, I would’ve sought apprenticeship from the master.

The level of absurdity skyrockets. And I go for the nutty ride.
