Trinity Blood: Episode 02

The fact that Tres is a machine is inconsequential. I’m ready to fangirl over this character. Not only is he played by Kazuya Nakai (One Piece’s Zoro), he’s also drool-worthy, plain and simple. Although it makes you wonder why the church built such a H-A-W-T killing machine. I mean, they could’ve made him with generic-looking features and he’d technically still function as a gunslinger, right? >__ <
The opening scene for the episode is quite unsettling and confusing. For a moment, I thought I downloaded the wrong episode number. I guess not. Is the series aiming for a non-linear approach? It did nothing to explain the immediate partnership of Tres and Abel. Was this from the past? Or did these events happened after the commercial airline incident? Either way, it works rather well with the monster-of-the-week type of scenario. I’m supposing this will go on for a while before we get to the meaty part of the storyline.
We have more religious references for Trinity Blood. I’m pretty sure naming the Nightroad brothers as Abel and Cain is not merely a superficial decision. If I recall correctly, Abel and Cain are Adam and Eve’s children. Cain is the tiller of the ground, while Abel is the keeper of the sheep. Because of jealousy, Cain killed his younger brother. I think it’s supposedly man’s first sin. (edit: Someone pointed out to me that it should say first murder in history. Ooops. ^^;;) Anyhow, the Abel-Cain brotherhood will probably serve as an interesting twist. I wonder how this will be incorporated to the storyline.
