Trinity Blood: Episode 04

Ample doses of inconsistencies bespeckle the otherwise emotive chapter of Trinity Blood. How can a character be knocked out from a measly jab and meekly await rescue in one moment, then demonstrate uber-strength after a incurring a stab wound in another scene? The mystery of plot holes…

Trinity Blood intrigues this audience member with its outlandish animation, bewildering characters, and even its circuitous narrative. Mediocre storytelling, indeed. Yet the cliches are trampled by the appeal of gray-haired bishies and shiny weaponry curious political machinations and Abel’s baffling persona. Abel Nightroad’s constant cry for non-killings is immediately contradicted by a bestial assault. Granted, he simply disarmed his opponent but the method is rather harsh for a seemingly peace-loving man. He acts helpless as when merely tied by ropes but demonstrates immense power when dripping with blood. He shows kindness and empathy but attacks with equal ferocity and venom. And most of all, he effortless switches from normal voice to a deeper one but only when certain requirements are met. At least, he doesn’t need a Darth Vader outfit to have a huskier sound. Hmmmm. Can one imagine Hayden Christensen’s Anakin Skywalker producing a James Earl Jones voice? I think not. But I digress. ^^;;

It took me a while to give sufficient time to *really* watch TB’s ED sequence. And I’m surprised at the this image coming after a parting shot from crying Esther. Isn’t this tad telling?
