Major: Episode 19

As hinted in the previous episode, Shigeno proposes to Momoko. Momoko does not entirely refuses the advancement. But lingering thoughts on Honda and a sense of responsibility for Goro deter her from exploring an immediate change. However, Shigeno’s intentions are pure. And he will patiently wait for the day when Momoko finally accepts him. *sigh* I’m more partial to Honda but Shigeno will do for now.

It is not jealousy that has driven Goro lonely and confused when he first saw his mom with another man. Abandonment is what he feared most. One honest talk with Momoko clears away his doubts. I’m pretty sure he will not purposely hinder Momoko’s chance of happiness, even if it means marrying someone else. For all of Goro’s slight attitude problem, he undoubtedly has a good heart. And watching cry like a small child in Momoko’s arms reminds the viewers that despite his constant bravado, he is a ten-year-old kid.

Mifune’s next opponent’s ace athlete is darn creepy. He supposedly throws an impressive forkball or something (non-baseball fan speaking, no clue at all). That kid isn’t human, he’s an android. Or at least, that’s my initial impression. Once the episode presents the intense pressure he receives daily from his own father, one cannot help but emphatize with him. A snippet of his family life immediately takes him away from a mere caricature. I’m looking forward to his plays.
