Glass Mask: Episode 20

Ayumi one-ups Tsukikage-sensei’s slapping prowess. Although in fairness, she only slaps her rival during the play itself, counting the fact that it is integral to guiding Maya. While Ayumi’s bitch-y act is very entertaining, watching the creepy Helen Keller candidate (forgot her name) is a riot. Seriously. ;p
Masumi’s utter concern for Maya is such a sweet moment for this viewer. It’s so depressing to watch his actions to be continually be misinterpreted by the little lass. In Maya’s defense, Masumi keeps on taunting her and spinning his lines not only to get a rise out of her but to keep his ‘murasaki no bara’ identity a secret. Maya almost hit the mark when she saw a purple rose in the Daido company car. But true to form, Masumi cleverly dances away from the suspicion. Ugh, it is irritating to wait for a nice resolution yet the wait itself is also rather entertaining.
A nice episode should be complemented with competent animation. But what’s with the crappy visuals? *sigh* Such a waste. At least, this is my only complaint for today.
On the brighter side, the preview suggests that the next episode should contain one of my all-time favorite scenes in any series, ever. Meh, uber-excited.
BTW, I’m in my creative-mode recently which doesn’t really say much (since my creative side is almost non-existent). Anyhow, I drew this earlier today. It’s my first attempt at drawing Maya and Masumi. It’s a bit spoiler-y because it’s taken from one of the scenes from volume thirty seven with very little changes.
