Snow Queen: Episode 02

Whoa. I haven’t seen an episode of ‘The Snow Queen’ for like, you know, ages. And the first person I hear in this second installment is a voice that I’ve lusted and obsessed focused on in the previous entry. Also, if it helps, I google-searched this actor and realized that he is not only famous but seriously h-a-w-t too. Cold shower, anyone? If this will be the pattern, I’m screwed to view this series effectively since my attention will be fixed on not-so-childlike thoughts. But of course, now I’m saying too much.
Can you believe from the paragraph above that I’m supposed to be commenting on a children show? Yeah, yeah, I know. I should just get over it. So on to the programme…
The characters are too good to be true that I could go insane if it weren’t for the fact that they are such wonderful and lovable cast. It is hard to hate anyone of them, even the supposed villains. The Snow Queen is still in the mysterious phase. And her Disney trolls are trying to be precocious but oddly not annoying. I can’t wait for the season to play out. I know, I’m way behind but the raws I have are only from 10-16. T_T Live-Evil, I command you to release the subs in quick manner. Erm, pretty please? No? Not gonna happen? *sigh* I guess I have to wait. ;p
Stunning animation (I want an artbook for this), beautiful music (I had goosebumps during the scene of the Snow Queen passing through the town and I want the soundtrack), wonderful VAs, and an overall feel-good-yet-slightly-melancholy atmosphere. Since I’m still relatively new to the title (with only two episodes viewed), it is hard not to expect this consistent superior quality.
BTW, good use of foreshadowing. Early in the episode Kay finishes his well-made puzzle for her sister Johanne. If you’re familiar with the story, the brief but not over-the-top focus on the puzzle is a nice touch.
