Black Cat: Episode 02

Sven cracks me up. He is simply golden. And I believe he was not this hilarious on paper. The seiyuu and the excellent direction might have something do with this tremendous entertainment. If Sven is daylight, angsty!BC (Black Cat) thrives at night time who basks at the glow of the moonlight. His soft spot for stray cats betrays the cold-demeanor he carries. His curiosity for the free-spirited mystery sweeper girl emphasizes his obvious want for freedom from the clutches of his organization. For once, he ignores his mission in exchange of assisting mystery sweeper girl\’s life, a very significant turn of direction.
Darn. I may not remember mystery sweeper girl\’s name (and I hope they mention it because \’mystery sweeper girl\’ is too long. Carpal tunnel, anyone?), but her scenes with angsty!BC makes me want to weep. While audiences realize that this girl\’s influence will eventually push angsty!BC on a different path, this will also be a cause for tremendous sorrow. *sniff* Makes me all teary-eyed.
Black Cat is definitely proving to be worth watching (and by extension blogging). The inventive shots and frames especially with creative utilization of the handheld camera effect. Even the psychedelic tone of certain scenes which could have been distracting remains seamless to the flow.
Hmmm. The ED theme sounds as if it is lifted from a seventies anime soundtrack. Maybe it\’s just me…
