The new season and tired old me
Another season. Another influx of new titles. To be honest, I have not been too excited this season. With the possible exceptions of Black Cat, the live action adaptation of Hana Yori Dango, and the return of Major, I am completely underwhelmed.
But this mild disinterest could mostly be derived from the temporary shift of primary interest in the last couple of months. Since this blog has been around for two years already, it’s not really a surprise. The anticipation of Serenity basically rekindled my adoration for JW’s works (not that it ever died). Consequently, this led to rewatching his series and hanging around Whedonesque and alike. This fanaticism interest, coupled with a competitive spirit for KoL, meant less anime time. But with four stubs under my belt (yes, I did watch the Serenity four times), I am inclined to focus on anime again. Plus, I’ve grown tired of the world of KoL, possibly because of the irksome whiny clan members. So, this season I start anew.
Aside from the aforementioned series, I am intrigued with Tohai Densetsu Akagi, a title revolving around mahjong. It sounds as if it will follow a sports anime format but it exudes a dark atmosphere that is not readily seen in any other titles in this particular genre. As for other titles, I’ll be in preview mode this month.
