Tide-Line Blue: Episode 06

With the twelfth and final episode already aired in Japan, I feel obliged to give Tide Line Blue a chance to once again prove its worth. I have shared my disappointment for previous episodes and I sure would not be too forgiving if I find myself bored to tears in this installment. Lo, and behold. A breath of fresh air comes our way. I find myself amused to the comical escapades of Keel, impressed with Gould’s military tactics, sympathetic to the shocked Teen, and perturbed at the unexpected betrayal. Am I in very good mood? Or is the episode truly entertaining?
Where’s the darn Kleenex? It cannot be avoided. The flashback from Tean’s perspective definitely sold the episode. It partially explains Tean’s current action. Also, it shows an interesting touch on continuity. I vaguely remember Keel hitting Tean like mad and Tean not fighting back. And in this flashback, Tean is wearing an unbecoming shade of red on his face, most likely from the previous fist-fight.
Wow. I should have heeded Alex’s comments earlier when he mentioned a great improvement in both episode six and seven. I was ready to drop the series from if it did not perform well in this episode but I was mistaken. Now, I once again will play catch up with the rest of the series.
