Black Cat: Episode 05

Dangerously demented, mentally imbalanced, and seriously in-lurv with his ex-partner, Black Cat\’s resident psycho dude, Creed, is up for one of my all-time favorite villains. Who knows how long he had nursed his raging lust desire for angsty!BC, only to be cruelly rejected and to be cast aside. All, for our mystery sweeper girl. Aaahhh, the heartbreak.
Imagine yours truly giggling as Creed secretly spies on a budding relationship. He then curses the girl like a broken-hearted b*tch. He broods for a moment and stalks his favored one. They enter a futile discussion but Chronos\’ Number 1 enters the picture. A love triangle (including mystery sweeper girl is a square but let\’s not go there) ensues. If not for his impressive display of his sword skills, I would have sworn that Creed would\’ve tried to slap Number 1 silly and pull her hair to instigate a girl-fight, in slo-mo.
With the inevitable tragedy to come, I should not be thinking this way. Yet Creed is deliciously evil and his psychotic attitude is strangely fascinating and amusing. Hence, the inane observations.
The execution of the anime adaptation of Black Cat differs from other titles from its genre. It utilizes core plotlines yet gently twist them to make a more succinct point. The end result: a solid narrative instead of a head-scratcher. Yes, I am SO loving this series. Here\’s a question: How long would it take for this title to devolve into generic tournament-like battles? Then again, I live for those types of sequences. Either way, it\’s a win-win situation for me. Or so it seems…
For a better perspective on the subject matter (since I can only spout the absurd), I direct readers to TL-chan, Mina, and Ren. Hmmm… all female bloggers (as far as I know). Is this trend suggesting we (the females) like the violence? Hee. Just wondering… *whistles innocently*
