Glass Mask: Episode 30

Eating mud cakes on stage, as disgusting as this may be, pushes Maya to her usual optimistic self. Although the cruel prank itself re-ignites the passion, her return to acting is mostly because of Masumi’s determination to keep her under the spotlight. Masumi not only prevails but also earns a significant turn in the lurv department.

Can you feel the Maya-Masumi lurv? Maya finally sees Masumi in a different light and my inner schoolgirl giggles with joy. She even calls him the moment Tsukikage-sensei’s attacks return. Awww. But of course, thick-headed as this girl is, she has no idea on what she is feeling. Dude, you’re on your way to the angst called lurv. You will feel the pain to keep the audiences entertained. A very good deal, if I say so myself…

Even though Maya bounces back from her comatose state, Tsukikage-sensei reaffirms her decision to let Maya out of the nest. She is forced to find her own path. And she did this with typical Maya fashion. She pulls out a one-woman play, Lady Pirate Bianca, and triumphs over her doubtful schoolmates. Her next performance is another monologue which we should be seeing next episode.

Random thought. For someone who is supposed to be very perceptive, Tsukikage-sensei is surprisingly unaware to Masumi’s affections to Maya. Is it because this particular development is not directly tied into Kurenai Tennyou? Sort-of the stereotypical self-involved actress who is oblivious to anything that would not benefit her, perhaps? Hmmm. More thoughts to ponder.
