Glass Mask: Episode 34

Someone poke me in the eye. The godawful dance montage of the other girls will forever be embedded on yours truly’s brain, and I am afraid it will drive me insane. Err, more insane than usual? Thankfully, Maya’s amusing painting performance quelled the dissatisfaction. That, and the succeeding scenes provides the requisite Maya-Masumi plotline. Masumi, why don’t you just sweep the girl off her feet? Pretty please. *nudge, nudge*

Aside from the ‘painting’ scene, our lively heroine diplays more of her brilliant skills to dumbfounded audiences. Her efforts to adlib various ways for the ‘restaurant’ act are commendable as always but it is the first task of the audition which captured this blogger’s interest.

Maya in a scary mode is indeed scary to watch. Seriously. Even with the cuts including the casting staff and the other gals’ reaction to Maya’s thriller-type interpretation to the poison scene, this viewer is still on the edge of her seat. Judging by the incredible performances of late, Sanae Kobayashi must have undergone a secret seiyuu power-up training. Or maybe it’s the director. I wonder if a magical transformation is involved… Hee.

Random thought. I concede that Hijiri can be considered a beautiful person but I question his choice of hairstyle. Does he believe that the Tsukikage-look suits him better than showing his entire face? Maybe I should write a fan letter to Suzue-sensei and ask her about this mysterious wonder.
