I demand a recount! STAT!
According to ANN, Oricon has ranked top ten shoujo manga (in Japan) basing on a survey.
10. Chibi Maruko-chan (Shueisha) - I have not read this title yet. But I am certainly going to now. If I ever find a copy… ^^;;
09. Fruits Basket (Hakusensha) - Sadly, I find the latest installments of FuruBa lacking of the certain magic I appreciated during its earlier run. Hopefully, my interest will be rekindled soon.
08. Glass no Kamen (Hakusensha) - Three words: Purple Rose dude. Need I say more? ;p On a side note, this should at least be in the top five. Grrr.
07. Renai Catalogue (Shueisha) - I haven’t read this one either. I will definitely look it up.
06. Kareshi Kanojo no Jijyou (Hakusensha) - Cute ending. Although it feels as if the mangaka lost its momentum around the -teen’s. *shrug* I’m more partial to the Yukino arc though.
05. Tenshi Nanka ja Nai (Shueisha) - If you compare this title to Ai Yazawa’s current artwork, you’d be a little be surprised. Quite a dramatic change, huh?
04. Nodame Cantabile (Kodansha) - Nodame Cantabile is simply hilarious. While I’m not obsessing over this manga, it sure is on my queue to complete the tankoubon.
03. Honey and Clover (Shueisha) - Ahhh. Do I even have to bother to explain? =D Although I have to say, I only read the scanlated chapters. But with the anime around…
02. Hana Yori Dango (Shueisha) - ZOMG!! MATSUJUN!!! Oh, wait. Wrong version. ;p Anyhow, the J-Drama is reigniting my desire to complete the manga in my collection.
01. NANA (Shueisha) - The angst. Ai Yazawa’s manga tops the rankings. Good for her. To be honest, I’d rather have Garasu no Kamen and Nana switch places. Oh, well. That’s just me. My judgment is clouded anyway with my lurv for GM. Call me obsessed. Hee.
