Noein: Episode 04

I find Haruka’s reaction to the extraordinary events around her rather suspicious. She takes it in with a stride and shrugs off the abnormality. While I concede that her personality might have a tremendous effect on this behavior, her calm demeanor is still incredibly bewildering; a head-scratcher, really. As soon as this audience member begins to wonder about our heroine’s limited emotional range, she displays a slew of expressions: anxiousness, fear, sadness, and *gasp* even anger. Apart from her supposed Dragon Torque role, she may be a normal girl, after all.
Haruka’s best friend Ai demonstrates the effects of the green-eyed monster through a barrage of grating actions. Instead of admitting her affection to the scrawny Fujiwara, she represses the unsaid feelings and bullies the poor lad in a pre-school-ish type of way. When jealousy strikes, she questions her friend and attacks without warning when a dissatisfying answer is given. Even if she apologizes for her unreasonable demands, she has left a not-so-commendable impression to this viewer.
Random thought. Is it just me or does Noein’s opening theme is reminiscent of Sousei no Aquarion’s OP? Anyone? It’s just me then, huh?
