Glass Mask: Episode 35

Trading places. A switcheroo. Role swap? Due to Tsukikage-sensei’s insanity desire to improve Maya and Ayumi’s acting skills, she asks the producers of the new play to switch casting roles. Ayumi will play the role of the antagonist while Maya becomes the protagonist. Let’s just say the drastic role change causes grief to the two Kurenai Tennyou candidates.
The Maya-Ayumi casting change provides necessary ingredients required for total TV focus. Yet I have to acknowledge the Maya-Masumi scenes are the most compelling component in the episode, especially the last one. Will we be shown the inevitable unveiling of Purple Rose dude? Or is it merely a soap operatic draw to tease viewers? Ahhh… the agony of those who have not been spoiled… Or not.
Well, I have been spoiled rotten so the last scene is not as effective as it should’ve been. Still, the mandatory giggling from yours truly is rampant throughout the select frames. What can I say? Any Maya-Masumi moment, may it be significant or not, trumps almost anything in the storyline for this fangirl. A romantic at heart, I tend to be partial to their oddball romance.
