Noein: Episode 05

To tag Noein as mere eyecandy is almost an insult after viewing this episode. The impressive animation remains consistently brilliant as well as its accompanying music. Adrenaline flows, tension soars, and emotion in turmoil as the episode reaches a climactic turn, only to leave this viewer in an unexpected yet dramatic cliffhanger. And as an added bonus, psycho-dude returns for another round of chaos. Oh, my. Have I mentioned how much I’m loving this show right now?

The Yuu-Karasu connection becomes clearer as each episode progress. Hints of varying time dimensions and artificial worlds pose questions on reality and illusion. What is real? What is an illusion? What can be deemed real in a world where reality and illusion converge? The series does not offer clear answers. Yet. ;p

With a supposed twenty-four episodes under its belt, one wonders on how will Noein sustain such intensity it has shown in a short five-episode period. Granted, the previous installment felt rather off even though its aim was to showcase another of Haruka’s awaking abilities. So I guess, I should expect filler-like average episodes every now and then. *sigh*

Random thought. Will my increasing annoyance to Yuu diminish as the story unfolds? Maybe my reaction to the subject will be similar to what I had experienced with Fantastic Children’s Helga. I suppose, this shouldn’t be a strange analogy since Noein is slowly emerging as my FC this season.
