One Piece: Episode 166

A pre-battle exposition episode… Meh, like.

After a fierce battle with Dango-dude and some dude whose name I currently can’t recall, the Straw Hat crew takes a breather from the fighting. Instead, the guerrillas with the hot-tempered Wiper take their place to oppose Enel. As for our favorite crew? But of course, a camp fire party is the only way to go for these pirates. There’s nothing like drinking and dancing to prepare for treasure-hunting the next day. Hah, if they only knew the upcoming upheaval in their near future.

Slightly off-topic. Has anyone read the latest chapters in the manga? The last two pages of ch.390 which is a double spread is just darn awesome. Great hero pose. And how about ch.391? The longawaited Robin flashback. Whoa. Can you almost smell the angst and heartbreak in her back story? I wonder if there would be a portion that can rival that awesome Nami-Luffy moment where Nami stabs her Arlong tattoo. Ahhh… How can One Piece manage to stay so darn fresh, entertaining, and jaw-dropping while infusing some real emotions in his storyline? My lurv for Oda-sensei only grows and grows.

BTW, any guesses on who’s going to be the next crewmate? Yeah, Franky seems to be a great choice but for some reason, I’m still shying away from that verdict. I wonder why.
