Glass Mask: Episode 41

What happened to the slightly mature Maya look? The character designs for the latest installment rolls back into the younger Maya version. Not that I had any problems with the design itself, but consistency is all I ask. I’m oddly disappointed.

At first glance, Maya’s performance as a wolf seems impeccable yet the director easily spots a major flaw. Maya’s wolf act is not one that survived the harshness of the wilderness but one that dwells in the city. With this problem in mind, Maya once again picks up her thinking cap and heads to a place to find her inner wolfie. Hee. Extreme behavior is inevitable.

Meanwhile, Masumi angst over his Purple Rose-dude persona. His conversation with the lovely Hijiri reveals some of his concerns on rejection and lurv. Ahhh… the heartbreak, which leads to his calculated decisions regarding Shiori. I’m pretty sure when Mizuki saw him dancing together with that woman, it took every ounce of self-control not to bang Masumi’s head. Or perhaps drag that woman away from the Daito head. Heck, I saw the the scene and all I can think of was, “Boooo!!!”. But that’s just me and my prejudice.

Random thought. Have I mentioned that I am really liking the current ending theme? Cheese-tastic galore. I want to hear the whole track.
