One Piece: Episode 171

Have I mentioned how much I enjoy the battle sequences of this arc? Most are hits such as the heart-pounding encounter between Luffy and Wiper, and there are misses. I mean, WTF is going on with soccer playing giant Enforcer dude? Would you believe that he can be that agile? The dude is a gigantic man who is capable of acrobatics and what-not. The mind boggles.

The wtf-ness continues with Dango-dude’s brothers’ appearance. I concede that their quirks are not as strange as giant Enforcer dude, yet their voices constantly grate this viewer’s nerves. Argh. Quit the helium, people. Thank goodness, ex-god stands up to the annoying duo. Plus, Nami takes out her weapon and readies herself to fight. Go Nami. Fight-o!

Meanwhile, the adorable Chopper arrives at the meeting point only to find no one else but a rather idiotic priest. I can only anticipate the antics of the two as they begin for battle. Will they be evenly matched? I can’t remember the details of their fight. Poor memory retention, I guess.
