Snow Queen: Episode 05

I know I have only seen only five episodes of Snow Queen but I am truly, honestly enthralled with this piece of gem. Who says fairy tales are only for children?

Gerda reaches a place where she can no longer see her home town, and the real journey begins. On her first day, she meets a strange individual as slick as a used car salesman who manages to cheat her a few copper coins. They parted ways only to meet once again in a lovely inn filled with rich clients. As it turns out, the weird man is in fact a thief of sorts. He pulls his heist but Gerda intervenes. But of course, this is a land of fairy tales so a happy ending is inevitable.

True enough, the premise of this episode sounds rather predictable (and so would the succeeding, I suppose) but it’s the execution which truly impresses me. From the animation, voice acting, music, and story-boarding, it’s a joy to watch.

Hmmm. I have the raws from ten onwards but I am missing six through nine. I wish I could find those files so I could start spoiling myself silly with the succeeding chapters.
