Black Cat: Episode 19

\”A mighty pain to love it is, And \’tis a pain that pain to miss; But of all pains, the greatest pain, It is to love, but love in vain.\” - Abraham Cowley

Hell hath no fury like a psycho dude scorned. Creed finally grasps the full meaning of the word \”No\”. His agony over the unrequited love manifests in a form worthy of his trademark flamboyance. In a rockstar fit, he destroys his precious angsty!BC painting, decapitates the life-size sculpture much to Train\’s relief, and aims for his beloved as well. Bordering in madness, the jilted lover\’s boiling rage seems unstoppable. But in the most crucial moment, a miracle presents itself. Saya appears in her otherworldly glory and assists Train in the deciding attack.

Stripped of his nano-abilities, a defeated Creed lays down the ground. He implores to be killed instead of relinquishing his powers. His requests are denied, for his remaining mortal life must be spent in atonement. He trudges away from his former flame. With his loyal Echidna by his side.

From Preta Ghoul to the Apostle soldiers, the failure of the \”Apostle of the Stars\” are seen all over Clarken Island. All seems well and good. Alas, an oh-my-holy-mother-of-effing-gawd! moment occurs.

No. I did not see that one coming.

My, oh, my. Unconventional camera angles (in anime anyway), scenes with non-linear frames, well-suited music, excellent voice acting, etc… The studio staff once again produces an adrenaline pumping, tear-jerking, and at certain times, giggle-inducing episode. I bow to Itagi Shin\’s storytelling skills. I will be looking forward to his future endeavors.

Random thought. Incorporating Saya\’s song to a brief flashback of Creed\’s past coaxed a massive case of sniffling. My lurv for Creed has increased exponentially upon learning of his tragic childhood. *sniff*
