Clearing anime queues
Spring is near. A slew of new anime titles will hit the airwaves in a few weeks. Fellow bloggers and anime fans anticipate the onslaught. Garten, BluWacky, Jeff, and Matthew share their list accompanied by brief thoughts on their selected titles’ potential entertainment factor.
For yours truly, three tickle my fancy: The bishified Host Club members of Ouran High School, (The manga simply cracks me up.); GONZO’s take on Witchblade, (TNT’s Witchblade is exceptionally entertaining. I’m looking forward to this franchise.); and the Kazuya-Shun seiyuu tag-team in Jyu-oh-sei. ( Reika’s enthusiastic anticipation for Jyu-oh-sei is contagious.). As for the rest, I will definitely have my hands full for their pilot episodes.
Herein lies the problem: The eternal backblog from hell. The number insists on multiplying. It simply refuses to stop. Still, I must maintain order amidst the chaos.
And I will.
» Akagi. Out of Triad’s five releases, I’ve seen four. And I intend to finish the latest one.
» Black Cat. I’m almost caught up with this series. With my strange partiality to BC, it’s no wonder. I even regret the fact that I only have five episodes to watch. *pouts*
» Black Jack. Despite my annoyance to the squealing chibi!sidekick, this fascinates me so. Although I must confess, I am only at episode ten. T___T
» Eyeshield 21. I relatively new to this fandom (via the manga). With Creed out of the picture, I am in need of a psychotic character to obsess on. Enter Eyeshield 21’s Hiruma. While he lacks the theatrical flamboyance of psycho rose dude, he makes up for it through his smart aleck-y attitude and severe attachment to his weapons. While I’ve read through volume ten, I am currently episode fourteen in the anime. So that means, twenty four subs more to go.
» Glass Mask. The countdown to the finale is drawing near. I am reluctant to touch the remaining episodes that I have right now, for I am not prepared to say my farewell to the series. At least, that’s the excuse I am giving myself. *coughs*
» Major. Damn, I can’t believe I haven’t touched the latest two released subs. I must get my act together.
» Noein. Same with Major. Procrastination is the correct word. And to think I claim to be much in-lurv with this title.
» One Piece. Hah. I am caught up with K-F’s release. Well… except for the one they released last night. Pffft, that doesn’t count. ;p
» Snow Queen. It’s a good thing, the subs are released in very loooooong intervals. It gives me time to catch up.
» Yakikate!! Japan. I lurv marathoning this show. I wait about three to five eppies before watching it. I’m in no hurry with this series. I wonder why…
Except for Major, I have not touched other titles from the winter season. And I still managed to accumulate a hefty load. Still, Black Cat, Noein, and Glass Mask are winding down to a close. I have no real intention in regularly posting on Akagi, Snow Queen, and Black Jack, so no worries on the blogging front. As for One Piece, I usually catch up on this. And for Eyeshield 21 and Yakitate!! Japan, marathons will be route. With this pseudo-assessment, I can finally the light at the end of the tunnel. I might be able to clear my backlog by spring.
Unless, of course, there’s an ongoing construction for tunnel extensions…
