Glass Mask: Episode 49

Tsukikage’s past is made for soap. Born out of poverty, she learns to survive as a child. But a good Samaritan reaches out and takes her out from this world. It is Ichiren who saves her from such existence. He feeds and clothes her. He teaches her to be a lady. He introduces her to theatre. He becomes the center of her life. Inevitably, she falls for him.
Her love is rejected for he has a family. She reluctantly accepts. But underneath the bright lights of the stage, she knows he is hers alone.
After Ichiren’s death, Tsukikage continues to keep Kurenai Tennyou alive, until the accident that claimed her beauty. She steps away from the spotlight yet she never truly turns her back on this passion. For years, she dreams of rebuilding her own troupe and groom a young one who will play the Crimson Goddess. Then, she meets Maya. The rest is history.
Eisuke is a selfish S.O.B. who should rot in hell for all eternity. His ruthless obsession for Kurenai Tennyou cost Ichiren’s career, family, and ultimately life. Ichiren, on the other hand, has a kindness in him, but he has a weak heart. He chooses death instead of life. And he even commits the act the day after he has taken Tsukikage as a lover. Between Ichiren and Eisuke, I wonder who is worse.
