Gakuen Heaven: Episode 04

The early dismissal of Gakuen Heaven by other anime enthusiasts robs them the pleasure of watching an original take on a welcoming party. ;p
The King throws a splendid bash in honor of Keita: A bath house event to initiate the transferee. To paraphrase Mr. Prez, nothing beats semi-clad bodies and bathing for male bonding. It is an old tradition, spanning hundred years, aimed to favor ladies (and some gentlemen) a chance to ogle and drool over nubile young men. Rawr. Smelling salts, anyone?
Amidst the nekkedness and hawt-ness, a mystery theater disrupts the social gathering. A perverse individual takes one of the attendee’s toothbrush and wears out the bristles. The hunt for the perv commences. However, their detective work is for naught. The culprit: A deranged cat with a toothpaste fetish.
Why, yes. Cats clean their teeth, too. Gah. If I had a cat, I’d name him Tono-sama. And just maybe… he’ll grow up as deranged and lovable as its namesake.
If episode three’s teaser elicit snorts and snickers, episode four’s not-so-subtle attempts at innuendo spark a fit of guffaws and chortles. Oh, boy. Gakuen Heaven is a delightful guilty pleasure, difficult to rationalize for the non-viewer. A slice of life coupled with homoerotic overtones and moments of inscrutable humor. It is so delish…
