Manga Lurv

… Or should I say, Black Cat lurv? ;p

Those who’ve read the recaps/comments on Black Cat might be familiar with my, erm, development of a slight fascination towards this series. As the series progressed, my fangirl mode cranked up several notches. The result is deadly. Possibly Fatal Attraction-esque.

To avoid murdering poor bunnies, I have to pour my energy elsewhere. Thus, collecting things I really shouldn’t. Yep, I finally received my Black Cat bunkos. ^_^

After a seriously hectic week, it’s great to open up a package with the smell of brand new books. It certainly helps that the cover arts are oh-so-pretty. The characters who graced the front covers are Train (v1), Sven (v2), Jenos (v5), Kyouko (v6), chibi-Train (v7), Dr. Lunatique (v8), Leon (v9), Sephy (v10), Creed (v11), and Saya (v12). A gorgeous coloured page is also included in each book. Nice.

Unfortunately, the occasion is marred by the exclusion of v3 and v4. Yesasia did not carry the items, so boo-hoo for me. =( I’m pretty sure Amazon.jp carries them but their shipping charges kills me.

I can’t get over this BC-lurving. Should I explore the glorious world of doujin? Oooh, my Creed fantasies…

Is that how the original Japanese books look like? I have only seen translated versions. See what I mean when I always say the anime massacred Sephy’s design.

The ones I got are the bunko, they are compressed to 12 volumes. I haven’t seen the tankoubons though. As for the translated version, I have v1 and I’ll probably collect all of them too. ^^;;

Hmmm. I personaly like the character designs of the manga. They look more mature and adult-like compared to the anime. I was simply a casual reader and not invested enough in the manga to find the change very bothersome. But gawd, I hated what they did to Train’s coat, with the over-inflated donut-esque accessory.

Train has them in the manga too… or do you hate it because they over-inflated it in the anime?

For the tankouban, I only remember seeing kid Train on v10 and Train + everyone in background on v20 (these are the only ones I own).

I like Black Cat because it’s an action manga with a main character that doesn’t start out as a pussy, and so it doesn’t suffer from what I call the “Super Saiyan Syndrome”. That and Eve is HAWT. I want to see a proper grown up version of her (not the scientist who made her).

The bunko look sweet!! I love how the Japanese can sell you the same thing over and over, only with different packaging. I think if I was more of a nut (and richer), I’d buy all of the reissues of my fave series.

Oh, COOL!!! Are they like new version? (’cause from what I remember, the manga covers weren’t one character-per-volume) They look absolutely gorgeous. Are there BC doujins? (I’m sure there are but I haven’t seen one) I think the characters look more sexy in the manga. ^O^

I think these are the new-ish ones, slightly repackaged. Aren’t they pretty? Hee.

Thank gawd, I’m not really into doujins because if I get obsessive I’ll be hunting it down like crazy.
