Noein: Episode 17

Can someone please grab that video camera away from Yuu? And when I say grab, I mean, yank it forcefully and trample the distasteful thing. Watching Yuu handling such equipment sends this blogger a flash of horrifying Dawson’s Creek images. Imagine Yuu morphing into Dawson Leary. Ack.
Aside from featuring Yuu as a budding director, the 17th chapter simply reiterates what audiences already know. Romance permeates Noein.
Let’s see. There’s the blossoming affair of Isami and Ai, as well as their tragic future selves. Atori and Miho have their quirky relationship, bordering on incest. And the most complicated of them all belongs to a five-person connection. Kosagi likes Kuina, but she is in-lurv with Karasu. Unfortunately, Haruka occupies Karasu’s heart. Well, Haruka is too young to understand the complexities of love affairs. While she is taken with Karasu, she is also partial to her childhood friend Yuu. Of course, Yuu is supposed to be the younger self of Karasu, so imagine the added entanglements. Erm, or something like this.
If I didn’t know better, I would’ve assumed Noein is some sort of prime-time soap trapped in sci-fi glory. ;p
