One Piece: Episode 184

What is it about the fighting genre and uber-descriptive titles? Yes, these descriptive titles spell out the entire plot of the episode. Almost. Let’s dissect episode 184: Luffy falls! God’s judgment and Nami’s desire.
Luffy falls! As the statement implies, Luffy almost plunges into his death. If not for Aisa’s quick response, our favorite pirate might have met a premature death.
God’s judgment. It is as if it this development has not been continuously hammered into audiences’ brain over the last ten episodes. To those clearly dense, I’ll reiterate. Enel, the one with a god complex that shames Light Yagami, plans to destroy an entire island because:
a.) He thinks he’s Mark Burnett. Instead of a million dollars, the winner/s receive/s the honor of accompanying Enel to the great beyond. Ack.
b.) He has a Noah’s arc fetish. Only the worthy can step into the light…
c.) He had traumatizing and abusive childhood. *sniff*
d.) He is nuts.
Personally, I prefer “C” but only the protagonists of OP are allowed to have this character arc.
Nami’s Desire. Nami’s desire is almost a hentai-esque doujin title. Sorry, you pervy readers. It ain’t. Once again, Enel invites Nami to join him in the promise land. Nami refuses. She spills out her guts about the joys of friendship and the sorrow of isolation. You know, emo stuff. However, I think it’s only a ruse to feature flashbacks.
Oh, the Sanji-Ussop team wakes up from their previously fried state. After a long hiatus, they are back in action.
