Saiunkoku Monogatari: Episode 04

The round table of three overrules Shuurei’s cry of protests. Poor Shuurei. She must endure the treacherous task of sleeping with a visibly smitten and extremely handsome man, and an emperor to boot. Oh, the tragedy. Why can’t I have this type of dilemma? ;p
As soon as Shuurei learns from her father little pieces of Ryuuki’s past, she finally understands her duty. She is quick to forgive the minor transgression.
Meanwhile, Seiran’s skills as a swordsman gave his true identity away. Sou Taifu and Shuuei instantly realized this, prompting Sou Taifu to hold a tournament battle. Ryuuki, who participates the event, coincidentally faced Seiran in the event. His Highness immediately recognized Seiran’s fighting style. After the tournament, the bishified duo immersed into a heart-to-heart talk. Unfortunately for them, Shuurei misinterpreted it as rabu-rabu actions. As for me, well, I have other thoughts veered toward a different direction. Hee.
Because of Shuurei’s warm nature, it almost inevitable for a sorrowful Ryuuki to fall for her. However, complications concerning politics leaves Ryuuki unable to pursue his yearning. For now, he satisfies himself with simple company and friendship. Ryuuki, despite his child-like demeanor, possesses a great deal of insight. His seemingly casual actions are, in fact, calculated with frightening perceptivity. Although, on occasion, it backfires. Ask Shuurei.
Four episodes out of thirty nine and audiences are given backstory and actual plot. Whew. Will this continue its winning streak until the finale? I hope so.
