Ask me not

If you are wondering how Ten is faring lately, fear not. I am alive and relatively well. The apparent absence of this blogger relies heavily not on the usual procrastination woes, but on a uncontrollable addiction.
Fellow bloggers temporarily abandon their posts due to manga reading, gaming, school, work, vacation, war, drought, famine, or, heaven forbid, a life! But gentle and semi-loyal readers, I, as you might discern from previous accounts, am charmed by the darker side of a karaoke obsession, more specifically anime and jpop karaoke-ing. Ask fellow omgsong-ers.
I know it is a great sin for the ears of mankind but I cannot help the temptation. And it all starts with a catch OP or ED song. One person might scoff at the notion of fancy karaoke effects currently popular in the digisub community. Another might point out its considerable uselessness in regard with the finished subs. But this argument does not heed well to those who derive pleasure from following a track. Admit it. Once you are smitten by an opening or ending clip, you cannot resist the urge to hum along. You pause, rewind, and sing along. Rinse and repeat the nth time until your voice cracks and your ears bleed. Or until your neighbor threatens to shoot you. But of course, when I say “you” I meant “me”.
And I don’t really have a point but to say that, yes, my heart is still beating and I am very much aware of my neglectful stance towards my semi-beloved blog. And yes, I am currently enraptured with contributing to noise pollution. I will return to regular programming once I get the pseudo-writing groove back. Thanks for those who emailed. I appreciate the kind words.
P.S. I know I could have written the last paragraph alone but I needed an excuse to pimp OMGsong. We need fresh blood.
