Hana Yori Dango J-drama S2: Episode 02
At last, a quiet conversation transpires between Tsukushi and Tsukasa. In the confines of her room, Tsukushi initiates the contact. With trembling hands, Tsukushi delicately cradles her phone. She calls the only number listed in the directory. One ring… two rings… three rings… four rings. The machine picks up. Tsukushi starts to end the call but she hears a familiar voice. She stutters. Cue tears streaming down my face.
An appointment is set for the lovebirds. Too bad. Tsukushi is only asking for more anguish. She catches glimpse of a kiss between Tsukasa and Shigeru. She misunderstands; her heart breaks. Ain’t love grand?
If only Tsukushi can get to the Rui bandwagon, she might avoid angsty complications. The odds against her are piling up. Yeah, yeah, we know that the couple will pull through in the end but let’s pretend for a moment. Let’s see.
First, Mommy D’s cold-hearted scheme is put into motion. She creepily smiles and smirks her way into her plan while the audiences wonder about her lack of conscience.
Second, Shigeru, Tsukasa fiance, truly falls in love with the young Doumyouji. Tsukushi is prepared to dislike the girl but Shigeru is a decent lass. And to make matters worse, the gal is adamant to befriend our heroine.
Third, Tsukasa is being an ass.
Like I said, Tsukushi can go for the Rui-side. At least, for now. Especially with our white-wearing sensitive one is beginning to develop certain emotions. I mean, he’ll be asking “Who’s Shizuka?” very soon. And for the record, I squealed like a little girl when I saw the TsukushixRui scene. (I have feeling Os will do that too. In a manly fashion, of course.)
