Anime Expo or Otakon?? Decisions and Angst.

Gackt will be attending and will be performing in Anime Expo (as a band SKIN with Yoshiki and Sugizo and Miyavi!). NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Damn, damn, damn!!!

I love Gackt. I mean, I REALLY LOVE Gackt. Not because he looks pretty (he’s not exactly my type and he looks a bit fey), but because he is such an awesome vocalist, composer, and lyricist. That voice of his is incredible. Low, deep, and full of emotion. He has such goddamn range and versatility. And he has this amazing vibrato. His songs get regular airplay in my iPod, especially his Seventh Night album (the unplugged one) and the Tsuki no Uta single. Of course, since Yoshiki and Gackt have this new band together, I gather that they would be playing new songs specifically written for the band SKIN. But if I could only see Gackt playing Vanilla in this lifetime. Or Last song. Or Love letter. Or maybe Tsuki no Uta, I’ll be an extremely happy fangirl.

Herein lies the dilemma. Should I start to do the number crunching? Or should I go to AX instead of Otakon? Will it be Gackt (and Aya even though I don’t care that much, but it is a plus) in AX or will it be Tomokazu Seki (whom I adore) in Otakon? Decisions, decisions. The Gackt element is so crucial. But then again, I have to find a hotel and plane ticket in the last minute, which could potentially crimp my budget. Plane fare is not really crucial, but it’s the hotel. If only I have a relative or a friend in the area to temporarily crash.

I am seriously borked.

P.S. A bit off-topic, but I am seriously fearing for Aya’s life when she attends AX.

I’ve been looking at hotels around the area. And they are pretty much full. I don’t want to go in a spur of the moment decision. I’ve been weighing several factors. Signs are pointing to no. But damn, I REALLY want to see Gackt.

The awesome thing about AX is that they get amazing guests.

HOLY FUCKING SHIT #%@#$^#&#&#!!! Anime Expo, you leave me wallowing in my own sadness every fucking year.

First it was Maaya Sakamoto. Then CLAMP. Now GACKT?!?!?!

All we got at Anime North was a Gackt panel. Yep, a panel, where you watch videos of Gackt. And stuff.

I’m not gonna be of much help here because I’m biased - but I say go with Gackt. The dude is insanely talented, and seeing him in North America is gonna be very very rare. With Seki Tomokazu, you can probably see him in the various promotional events.

Ugh, this shock will take me 3 months to heal.

I realize you have absolutely no idea who I am, but I’ve been following your blog for ages (since One Piece was still in Alabaster at least), and there might be room for you in my hotel room, if you don’t mind the floor/a cot and rooming with four strange girls.
