Karaoke Lurv: 7th AnimeSuki karacom edition

Vague Disclaimer: If you are sick and tired of my karaoke talk, look the other way.

The 7th semi-annual AnimeSuki Karaoke Competition (now dubbed as karacom) came and went. I missed the broadcast. (I was almost on the verge of calling-in sick at work, but I don’t think they’ll appreciate the excuse.)

Darn.

So yeah, I missed it. Since I wasn’t able to participate in the IRC discussion, the next best thing was to read through the logs (Yes, I read the entire thing.), for both the non-comp and official entries. And man, thanks for the kind words from those in the channel. What a generous response. Thank you muchly.

The submissions were only half as last November’s competition. But 40 ain’t something to sneeze at, though. As far as the IRC discussion go, it seems that a whole lot of talented people joined this season. Well, so did last season. When karaoke-whores come together, the world goes round. It makes me feel oh-so-tingly.

I am a Fome and Cheyanne fangirl so I am looking forward to those two. Also, there seems to be a stand out track from a girl new to the comp, stakato. Then basing on my favorite exchanges of the log (”bishie!!!”, “STALKERS!!”, “fangirled?”, “Bishie?”, “bishounen!”), it seems that I am going to fangirl over one dude, who apparently has one hell of a sexy voice. Hah. Meh likey the sexy. Rawr. (Look up the discussion on Shinndou, and you’ll know what I mean.)

I am still waiting for the big torrent file to listen to all the entries. But if you’re a glutton for punishment here are my submissions.

Karacom entry: Don’t Bother None
Artist: Mai Yamane
Anime: Cowboy Bebop
Not-so-fun fact/s: Don’t Bother None is relatively easy song to sing. And I love singing in this style. Much more comfortable than contemporary pop, to me at least.

Non-competition entry: Blue
Artist: Mai Yamane
Anime: Cowboy Bebop
Not-so-fun fact/s: I wanted to enter this for my official entry. Unfortunately, I couldn’t sing it on one take. (Karacom rules states comp entries *must* be sung in one go.) Plus. I couldn’t record a decent ahhhh adlib. I sang quite a few takes in one night for this song. My voice was hoarse the next day.

Are you still there, dear reader-turned-listener? If yes, well, I did warn you. If no, then good for you.
